Going somewhere alone – Gangwondo

During this weekends, I traveled alone. I wanted to go with some close friends but they were all busy, so I decided to go alone rather than invite friends who I don’t want to go with.  I want to Gangneung and Samchuck, which  both cities belongs to Gangwon-do province where takes a big part of northern east coast.

There was a big reason why I wanted to go travel. This was taking some pictures. My sister sent her camera to me, so I wanted to use the camera and take some good pictures.  so I think I did.

Here are some pictures.

This picture is taken at Jeong-Dong-Jin where this city is in Gangneung and very famous for the sunrise. Many Korean people go this place to see the first sunrise of  new-year. When I went there, it was not new-year tho, I hope to see the sunrise, so I woke up at 5am. but I failed because the weather was so bad. I hope to see next time tho.

The second picture was taken at 5am. but I couldn’t see the shining of sun…

I love this picture. I think this is the best pic I have taken this trip. I feel the emptiness and silences.

From the next picture, just see how beautiful Korea is

Through this travel, I realized that traveling along isn’t that bad. I could change my schedule without any argument, I could be very spontaneous. Literally, I traveled with the flow which was awesome. I made a decision at the end of this travel. It is that I will go travel every once a month. Traveling make me feel refreshed, get rid of my stress and forget about any complexity.

I hope anybody who may read my posting give me any recommendation about tourist spots in the would. I would love to put the recommendations in my bucket list!!

A message for myself

Life is too short to even live happily.

These days, I have kept negative about the situation that I face. It stressed me out and feel frustrated. I was always afraid of every morning because of my work.AlsI could not sleep well.

Also, I could not sleep well.

However, from now on, I will try to change my attitude of living my life. I will try to be more optimistic and not to get a lot of stress from job.

Junyeong, take a step back and think. then you will know.  Make your life with full of  happiness

Daily Life in South Korea in Seoul

My life as software developer in Korea

Two weeks ago, I started working in the software company in Korea.

As a new employee, I started working in a company two weeks ago. I wasn’t excited at all to work because I already knew that how developers’s life is in Korea. They get off really late like midnight? and they don’t get piad well as much as developers in other countires  do. Their life in Korea is infamous so bad. That is why I was excited at all.

After working there for two weeks, I realized that my life would be full of stress if I work here. I definately know that I am a new employee, so I don’t know much this industry and tasks. But also I don’t major a computer science. This job will be very tough at the beginning for sure. However, I can foresee my life in a year, aftar adapting to work at this company, if I see my manager and coworkers. They usually get off work at 9pm at least or even later.

From that, I can see my life in a year, which make me frustrated. Speaking of my life in this company for two weeks, I never got off before 10pm. I could go to home at 6 but There were a lot of tasks that I should finish by this friday. So I could not go home early. If this sort of life keep repeating for the rest of my life, I want to get a job in other countries or get a different job.

I want to make a schedule after 6pm, and learn something new such as, crafting leather, learning playing badminton, and taking picture professionally etc. But I don’t think I can have a time to make a plan after 6pm.

What can I do? or How can I figure it out? I want to live my own life, not for a company.

I will make a decision within a month if I work here or stop.

The biggest bay in Korea – Suncheonman Bay

I safely made to Suncheon which was the last city that I was going to visit in this travel. I was a little bit tired. but I was happy to make it here.

The Suncheonman Bay is the biggest swamp in Korea. Migratory birds come to this swamp to spend their winter. Luckily I could see the birds when I visit here.

After finishing this trip, I felt that Korea  has many places to visit. Many travelers from other countries just visit Seoul, the capital of South Korea or Busan, the second biggest city in Korea. However, I strongly recommend that you should search a little bit more about Korea and find where it would be good to visit. I tried to take my friends to a southern or middl part of  Korea. If somebody wants to know about traveling in Korea, feel free to message me or comment my blog.

If you visit Korea, just don’t stay in Seoul. There are more adventurous, beautiful things out of Seoul!

I think life is like a good book

Her Korean name is Park Jung Hyun, who is my favorite woman singer in Korea. She gave a speech in SookMyung Women’s University about English literature which was her major in Columbia university.

She was talking about why she chose a English literature as her major, how she became a singer in Korea and how her major is working with her musical career.

Speaking of her singing, whenever I listen to her song, I think that she articulates the emotion of songs as her own way or emotion. I love the way she expresses the emotion of songs.  The expressive power of her musics is very superior and outstanding than any other singers in Korea as far as I know.  I think that is why she could become a  famous singer in Korea. That is her critical weapon.

I think she combined her major, English literature with her musical career well. She sings a song showing her emotion in her unique way. I think the way she articulate her emotion derives from studying literature. She is familiar with understanding the delicate emotion of characters and situations in literature. Studying literature can be the main factor of pursuing her musical career.  I think she is the very good example of combining two different fields, literature and music.

Finishing her speech, she quoted ” I think life is like a good book. the further you get into it, the more you begin to make it senses ” This quote is so true. I am just 25 years old. I am getting into my life as trying to find what I like and what drives me. It begins to make sense more to me and very interesting.

It was good to watch her lecture and I am more big fan of hers now. She has such a good personality I think.

Thanks for giving this impressive lecture to us!

This is what I recommend you to listen to. This is one of her songs that I like. Good to listen to at 2 or 3 am.

Must listen!

I went to hiking with my friends to the highest mountain in Cheon-an. It was maple season, so I could enjoy the various color of trees and leaves.

Still Alice

movie_image

People who have a strong self-consciousness live their life as recognizing themselves, who they are, how they are.  Alice keeps trying to find herself, even though she knows that she is losing her memory which consists of her and is the everything of her life.  I could feel the fear from Alice losing her pieces of herself slowly.  She wanted to be still Alice.

Dancing is always fun!

Do not be shy, lets dance together!

Shyness, Enjoyment and Activeness of Western People

The first time that I danced was at Foker building, kinesiology department in Iowa State University. For the two semester in ISU, I took Jazz dance class and ballroom dance.  Taking dance classes were the second best choice that I had made during exchange periods; the first best choice was to go backpacking. The reason why I dare registered these classes was that I wanted to see whether I could dance or not. It was the same like testing myself. I love listening to music  and  I love singing. Dance is the last thing that I wanted to conquer. I learned Jazz dance, eastern swing dance, Waltz, Chacha, etc. It was very fun and good way to meet new people. Regardless of gender, they were cool, nice, good manner, and sociable. As time goes by, I was getting used to dancing with people who I don’t know and enjoying dancing people. Later, I made group of people to go dance social and taught some moves to students who had not danced before.

One thing that I observed was the activeness of western society people. they do not have any problems talking, dancing, and hanging out with people who they do not know.  it took times for me that getting used to this culture which is totally different with Korea. However, I do not think that I am afraid of meeting or talking with strangers anymore. Instead of being shy, I would go first to ask dance and talk
